Kasaki, Heizou
Summary
Kasaki Heizou served as the Third Seat of the Ninth Division within the Gotei 13, operating under the command of Captain Muguruma Kensei. A tall and muscular Shinigami, he was bald and sported a mustache, typically maintaining a serious demeanor. His attire consisted of the standard Shinigami uniform topped with a white jacket featuring a high collar that reached his neck, consistent with the dress code of his division. During the Turn Back the Pendulum arc, Kasaki was first introduced when Muguruma Kensei and other seated officers of the Ninth Division were dispatched to investigate the disappearance of Rukongai residents. Along with his fellow Ninth Division members, he rescued a young Hisagi Shuuhei and his friends from a Hollow. After Kuna Mashiro, who had been absent from the battle, discovered ten empty shihakushou near the attack site, Kensei realized this number matched a vanguard sent to investigate earlier. Recognizing the severity of the situation with Shinigami going missing, Kensei issued various orders. To prevent the culprits from reaching Seireitei, he tasked Kasaki with having the standby unit bring a tent and establish a camp. Later that night, Kasaki was seen resting inside the tent with his captain and lieutenant while the other seated officers stood guard outside. When screams erupted from the outside, Kensei and Kasaki rushed out to find the corpses of their comrades. They drew their swords but were immediately attacked. Kasaki was killed in the ensuing battle, while Kensei suffered grievous injuries. As a Third Seat officer of the Gotei 13, Kasaki possessed specialized skills in swordsmanship and combat. His Zanpakutou’s Shikai remains unrevealed, and he did not achieve Bankai.
