Summary
Momo Sohma is the younger sister of Momiji Souma. In contrast to her brother, she is not afflicted by a Zodiac curse or a vengeful spirit. The existence of Momo came into being only after her older brother was erased from his mother’s memory, leading their parents to have another child. To protect her new family’s happiness, Momiji’s father strictly prohibits any interaction between him and Momo. Ironically, Momo is eager to learn about Momiji and actively seeks opportunities to discover more about him. She bears a striking resemblance to her mother, a fact her mother denies. When Momo catches Tooru trying to sneak into the Souma residence, she reveals a secret entrance to her. She then asks Tooru to convey a message to Momiji: she wishes for him to become her older brother. Momo had recently begun learning the violin, but to maintain the necessary distance between her and Momiji, her father forced Momiji to quit their lessons since they would have shared the same instructor. It is later revealed that Momo had witnessed Momiji playing in the past and hoped that learning the instrument would allow them to play music together. Upon hearing through Tooru that Momo wants him to be her brother, Momiji is moved to tears of joy. Her elder brother describes her as cute, and she typically remains close to her mother, resembling a baby chick.
