Pegasus J. Crawford is a 24-year-old American with blood type A, standing 187 cm tall and weighing 65 kg. Born on October 8, he has a taste for wine and Gorgonzola cheese, while disliking cuttlefish and squid. As the eccentric Chairman of Industrial Illusions (abbreviated as I²) and the creator of Duel Monsters, originally titled Magic & Wizards, he wields the Millennium Eye. He serves as the manga’s fourth primary antagonist and the first major villain in the second anime adaptation. To force Yugi into his Duelist Kingdom tournament, Pegasus challenges him to a Shadow Game, taking the soul of Yugi’s grandfather, Sugoroku Mutou, as a Penalty Game stake after Sugoroku loses the timed match. During the journey to Pegasus’s castle, Yugi communicates with his imprisoned grandfather via camcorder. In the second anime, Pegasus traps Sugoroku in a Soul Prison Duel Monsters card. He also kidnaps Mokuba to lure in Seto Kaiba, capturing their souls as well. In the second anime, Pegasus plays a crucial role due to his extensive knowledge of Duel Monsters and its ancient Egyptian origins. While known as Pegasus J. Crawford in the Japanese versions, his name is Maximillion Pegasus in the VIZ Media-translated manga.
