Roukishi
Summary
Roukishi is an eccentric elderly man distinguished by his gold teeth, initially observed seated before a bookstore engaged in a game of shougi. After noticing Jin observing foreign vessels at sea, he reveals that their presence is unlawful. He subsequently issues a wager to Jin, risking his life against a substantial sum of money in a shougi match. During the contest, Roukishi attempts to cheat by overturning the board, but Jin exposes the deception, having memorized the position of every piece. Jin attempts to leverage this knowledge to gain an advantage, only to be rebuked by Roukishi for his own tactics.
