Summary
Nineteen-year-old Aoi Ogata serves as a junior secretary to Kei’s grandfather, President Takishima, frequently acting as the President’s emissary. He possesses a cold, calm demeanor and an expressionless face that never breaks into a smile, yet he is genuinely kindhearted and somewhat socially awkward. Like Kei, Aoi can memorize anything he sees after just one glance, a trait that led to him being teased during his childhood. Their paths first crossed when Aoi was eight and Kei was five, sparking a deep admiration and respect in Aoi, who views Kei as a kindred spirit. Aoi initially appears when dispatched from London to persuade Kei to transfer there, a move orchestrated by his grandfather. Upon discovering the source of Kei’s hesitation, Aoi targets Hikari, attempting to threaten her. Although Kei tries to intervene, he fails to stop Aoi, who eventually resorts to bribery. Hikari responds by tearing up Aoi’s check. Later, Hikari confronts Aoi, leading them to form the After School Takishima Fan Club, where Aoi serves as president while Hikari provides photos and reports on Kei. Through this arrangement, Aoi realizes he should not pressure Kei beyond his comfort zone and finds peace in seeing both Hikari and Kei happy. He makes his debut in chapter 28.
