Known primarily by his nickname Koyuki, Yukio Tanaka serves as the central protagonist of the series. Beginning as an unremarkable and passive teenager, his life undergoes a dramatic transformation as he develops into a gifted guitarist with deep emotional resonance. While his initial timidity and tendency to be pushed around may reflect Japan's reserved, conformity-driven culture, Koyuki ultimately discovers his voice, both literally and figuratively, through the power of music.
