Summary
Lunuganga is a colossal Hollow constructed entirely of sand, featuring a head that mimics the shape of a sandcastle. Serving as the Guardian of the White Sands, he operates under direct orders to defend Las Noches against any intruders. Because of his sandy composition, he possesses immunity to most physical strikes and Kidō spells, allowing him to regenerate from nearly any injury without fail. He can manipulate the surrounding sand to launch offensive maneuvers, such as generating sinkholes and tornadoes. While this grants him near-invulnerability in the desert terrain of Hueco Mundo, it also renders him highly vulnerable to water and ice-based attacks. Consequently, he is swiftly defeated by Rukia Kuchiki when she utilizes her Shikai. In the anime adaptation, it is noted that Lunuganga exists in many forms since he is essentially just sand; destroying individual manifestations does not kill him entirely, meaning only an exceptionally broad and powerful assault could truly eliminate him.
