Maeda, Motoko
Summary
Motoko Maeda is a housewife residing in Lower Sotoba who is employed at the Chigusa drive-in. She exhibits an extreme, unhinged xenophobia, strictly forbidding her children from playing near the motorway because she fears outsiders will abduct them. Her mental state deteriorates significantly after her father-in-law, Iwao, transforms into a Shiki and murders her husband, daughter, and mother-in-law. Her sanity completely breaks when her son, the final remaining member of her family, is also killed.
