Summary
Omosadake Futoshi is a chubby first-year student and member of the Sumo Club who wears jersey number 54 on the football team. Standing at 160 cm and weighing 100 kg, he is characterized by his perpetual laziness, often keeping his eyes shut because opening them feels too exhausting, with eating being the only activity that does not trouble him. He was recruited by Hiruma to play as a lineman against the Amino Cyborgs, where he claimed a maximum playtime of thirty minutes. While the manga focuses on his debut in that match, the anime introduces him earlier in episode 56, showing him helping the Hah-Hah brothers with line practice against the Poseidons. He later assists Kurita on the defensive line during the game against the Ojo White Knights, employing a tactic similar to the Taiyō Sphinx to resist players like Ootawara. During the semi-final against Ojo in chapter 219, commentator Kumabukuro reveals his name is a pun, noting that 'Omosa' means weight and 'dake' means only, implying he is merely dead weight. Despite his low stamina, he exerts 100% effort when motivated by his weakness for mango pudding, though this quickly drains his energy. In the anime, he is depicted as being no taller than Daikichi Komusubi.
