Tanimoto, Kaede

Summary

Tanimoto Kaede was the younger sister of Tanimoto Natsu, the former Six Fist of Ragnarok. Both siblings were orphans who were eventually adopted by a wealthy businessman. Natsu dedicated himself to becoming the ideal heir for his step-father, driven by the desire to care for Kaede, who was born with a fatal illness. After taking Kaede to one of his medical facilities, the step-father married the female doctor there. For a short time, the family of four experienced genuine happiness, with the step-father showing sincere affection. However, this peace was shattered when the step-father was found dead under mysterious circumstances, with the police failing to determine the cause. Suspecting the step-mother of murder, the authorities arrested her, forcing Natsu to take over the company alone. Natsu later learned that the step-mother had neglected Kaede’s treatment, causing her condition to deteriorate. On her deathbed, Kaede’s final words urged her brother never to give in. The trauma of Kaede’s death, combined with suspicions regarding her step-mother’s deception and his rescue by Ogata Isshinsai, fundamentally corrupted Natsu’s formerly innocent personality. Coupled with training from his master Ma Sougetsu, these events transformed him into a cold and ill-tempered individual. Upon meeting Shirahama Honoka, Natsu perceived strong similarities between her and his late sister, leading to a sibling-like bond. Despite this connection, Honoka’s clumsiness and childish behavior often irritated him. Kaede’s dying wish became a driving force for Natsu, compelling him to never lose a fight. This determination fueled his performance during his second battle against Honoka’s brother, Kenichi, and later played a crucial role in his death match against Chou Enshin.
