Summary
Kassim is Alibaba’s childhood friend who eventually becomes his adopted brother. In their youth, he resided in the slums of Balbadd alongside his father and sister. Their abusive father was beating them until Anise Saluja, Alibaba’s mother, intervened to save the siblings. Anise subsequently took Kassim and his sister into her home, integrating them as family members. Following Anise’s death from illness, Kassim assumed responsibility for the household. Despite holding the title of cadre within the "Fog Troupe," he serves as its true leader and wields the magical weapon known as the "Sword of the Black Binding Fog." His upbringing in the slum streets with Alibaba was brotherly, and his name is derived from the fictional brother of Alibaba in the tale of "Alibaba and the forty thieves."
