Summary
Fuurinji Hayato makes his debut in Battle 6 and is categorized under the Dou/Sei type with a Katsujin Ken philosophy. As Miu’s grandfather and the undefeated elder of the Ryōzanpaku Dojo, he holds the title of "Invincible Super Man" and boasts a legendary record of nearly killing 500 Shaolin masters. His physical prowess is so immense that his kicks remain a blur even when viewed in replay at one-thousandth normal speed. While he can intimidate other masters to maintain peace, he also demonstrates overwhelming strength, capable of defeating both Kenichi and Miu simultaneously or splitting a tree using merely 0.0002% of his power. He once defeated a master-level opponent in the D of D tournament with a single finger. Hayato possesses 108 special techniques and can effortlessly copy any move used against him, including Kenichi’s "Saikyou (Strongest) Combo," "Saikyou Combo 2," Soutenshu’s moves, and Miu’s "Hyōi Kazekirihane." He is the creator of "Ryūsui (flowing water) Seikūken," which Kenichi learned from him, though he frequently utilizes the "Human Shuriken." He also knows the "Shockwave of Forgetfulness," a technique that erases memory with variable intensity, as seen when it caused total amnesia for a thug leader during a flashback involving Apachai while only affecting Kenichi’s short-term memory. Before establishing the dojo, he traveled the world with Miu in search of peace. His training methods are terrifying, often causing bad omens like splitting tea bowls and chopsticks during Kenichi’s mountain training. Despite this, Hayato favors Kenichi, calling him "Ken-chan," and is the only master to apologize for the hellish regimen imposed by the group. He notes that Kenichi reminds him of his younger self, though Miu reveals he struggled against Silcardo Jenazard in the past. Hayato has a past connection with Kushinada. Despite his status as the dojo’s most powerful member, he can be irresponsible, squandering funds on personal items and obsessing over displaying his strength. He has a sweet tooth for lollipops and has admitted to feeling weaker, requiring rest after expending significant power. In Battle 231, he demonstrates bi-vocal skills, once using them for a karaoke duet, and can operate his left and right body sides independently. By Battle 233, he can reduce his voice to be heard by only one person. These abilities lead many to believe he is not human.
