Summary
Sanosuke Harada, a towering figure at six feet four inches with brown eyes and dark brown hair, serves as the Captain of the 10th Unit within the Shinsengumi. Renowned as the organization’s premier spear wielder, he has mastered the Taneda Houzouin-ryuu spear technique, rendering him nearly invincible in combat despite his lackluster proficiency with the katana. He is known for his boisterous and comedic nature, often indulging in eating, particularly by mooching off others, and teasing the chibi characters. Along with Toudou Heisuke and Nagakura Shinpachi, he forms the Comedian Three. Despite his rough and crude exterior, Sanosuke possesses a kind heart and detests seeing others bullied, frequently stepping in to help those in need, although his methods can sometimes be aggressive, such as when he physically dealt with Tetsu early on. As one of the original members, he predates the Shinsengumi’s relocation to the capital. However, his erratic behavior means he is not trusted by Hijikata for delicate errands. His motivation is often driven by a strong desire for food, especially dishes prepared by Ayumu. This drive was evident during a marathon where he initially trailed behind but surged forward to catch Yamanami and Shinpachi upon realizing the super-size meal Ayumu had prepared as the prize.
