Walker, Allen

Summary

Allen Walker is the protagonist of the series. Abandoned by his biological parents due to the perceived deformity of his left arm, which was actually caused by his Innocence, he was discovered and adopted by Mana Walker, a traveling performer, on Christmas Day. After Mana’s death, Allen was manipulated by the Millennium Earl and transformed Mana into an Akuma in a desperate attempt to resurrect him. The cursed Mana Akuma slashed Allen’s left eye, leaving the Pentacle mark on his face and allowing him to see the souls trapped within Akuma. During this trauma, his hair turned white, and his left arm instinctively invoked as an Anti-Akuma weapon, destroying the Mana Akuma. Allen later encountered Cross Marian, a General of the Black Order, who explained that souls trapped in Akuma are lost forever and can only be saved by exorcising them. Allen became Cross’s disciple for three years, enduring his master’s irresponsibility, womanizing, and harsh treatment while working odd jobs to pay off Cross’s debts. This fostered a relationship of fear rather than respect. Allen eventually joined the Black Order as an official exorcist. Physically fit and skilled in combat, Allen possesses unique talents developed to cope with his past. He learned to gamble and cheat at a young age to pay Cross’s debts, using deception to win, a dark side that contrasts with his polite demeanor and surprises his friends. He also retains circus skills like juggling and acrobatics from his time with Mana, who was a circus clown. Allen’s synchronization ratio peaked at 83% before his Innocence was destroyed, lingering as a hazy fog reflecting his shattered mind. After an epiphany, he regained control, achieving his Innocence’s true form, Crowned Clown. In its inactive state, his arm is black with a spiraling pattern ending in a tattoo-like emblem. When invoked, Crowned Clown forms a white-hooded cowl and sleeve of Innocence energy over his shoulders and right arm, while his left arm becomes slender, black, and armored with razor-sharp claws. A masquerade mask adorns the cowl, and his hair changes from flat to spiky. The Innocence retains sentience and can manipulate Allen like a marionette for evasion or when he is incapacitated. During a confrontation with Tyki, Allen’s synchronization exceeded 100%, activating the Sword of Exorcism ability. This sword can exorcise Akuma upon contact and even remove the Noah Gene from Noahs. Tyki was notably shocked by the similarity between Allen’s sword and the Millennium Earl’s sword. Inspector Levrier and Cross have both referred to a "player" who plays a musical instrument, hinting at the existence of more than one.
