Senjougahara, Father
Summary
Hitagi’s father is a taciturn but deeply kind-hearted man whose devotion to his daughter drives him to keep working even in his wife’s absence. He places his trust in Koyomi, relying on him to ensure Hitagi’s safety since he cannot be with her as often as he would like. His family’s life was altered when young Hitagi was diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition. Although she survived, her mother joined a cult in a desperate bid to protect her, which ironically diverted her attention away from the rest of the family. Years later, when Hitagi was afflicted by an oddity that made her nearly weightless, five conmen promised to cure her but left the family destitute. The mother abandoned the family permanently, leaving her husband in debt and struggling to make a living for Hitagi’s sake.
