Summary
Sage, a 270-year-old figure, serves as the Pope of Sanctuary and is the former holder of the Cancer Gold Saint cloth. He and his twin brother, Hakurei, stand as the sole surviving Saints from the previous Holy War. Driven by the loss of all his comrades, Sage has dedicated himself to seeking vengeance against Thanatos and Hypnos. In his capacity as Pope, he mentors Manigoldo, the successor to the Cancer Saint position, while simultaneously conducting investigations into deities associated with Hades. Sage possesses profound expertise in soul-related techniques and wields a vast array of talismans designed to seal divine power, collectively known as the Talisman Cage (タリスマン・ケージ Tarisuman Kēji). During his confrontation with Thanatos, he successfully entombs the god within the Holy Coffer, a feat made possible by his brother’s Altar Silver Cloth, ultimately sacrificing his own life to achieve this. Flashbacks reveal that Sage was already aware of Gemini Aspros’ betrayal and his plot to assassinate him. To uncover Aspros’ true motivations, Sage collaborated with Virgo Asmita to devise a strategic approach.
