Yen Press Drops Yuri LN & 9 Manga at SDCC 2026

Yen Press used its San Diego Comic-Con 2026 industry panel to lock in a fresh English slate: one light novel and nine manga, led by the yuri title Watching the Angel Sleep, Drowning in Bed Together. Story by Tetsuto Uesu and art by Minori Chigusa, it follows high-schooler Ayana Yukihira, who expects a solo fresh start after her parents’ divorce—only to find classmate Yuu Fukami already in the apartment after a booking mix-up. Instead of kicking her out, Yuu offers to share the lease, and the pair’s quiet attraction only deepens from there.

The manga wave is just as broad. Standouts include Tachibana Higuchi’s (Gakuen Alice) fairy-tale isolation piece Champignon Witch, about a toxic-mushroom hermit witch shaken by an unexpected encounter; Katsuwo’s post-apocalyptic adventure #ImLookingForZombies: The Complete Omnibus, in which a girl and her friends leave their village to hunt for her father—and for the undead; and Mane Mane Nichi Nichi: Baseball Manager Everyday from Sōichirō Yamamoto (Teasing Master Takagi-san), a dugout comedy about three very different team managers.

Other pickups span rom-com and darker romance: Sharkmaid of the Shore (a not-quite-human maid and her orphaned charge), The Deskmate Cat and the Love Novice, villainess academy drama The Villainesses Are Unwavering, anti-romance oddity Disenchantment Camera, BL hookup-gone-complicated Don’t Talk to Me, and bittersweet second-chance story My First Love With You Again.

Together, the package is classic Yen Press convention energy—genre variety first, big name recognition where it counts—and a clear signal that English readers will keep getting both cozy yuri and offbeat genre manga through the publisher’s pipeline after SDCC.
