Tenkaichi Drops Teaser PV, Key Visual & Cast for April 2027

The Sengoku death-match finally has moving steel. Tenkaichi: The Greatest Warrior Under the Rising Sun launched its official site Thursday with a teaser promotional video, a first-match key visual, and a locked April 2027 broadcast window — turning Yousuke Nakamaru and Kyoutarou Azuma’s tournament manga into a TV series at studio Fugaku.
The new visual slams unfinished swordsman Miyamoto Musashi into Tokugawa titan Honda Tadakatsu for opening-round blood, while the tournament’s architect — Oda Nobunaga, very much alive after Honnō-ji — looms behind them. In this 1600 alt-history, a decade after unifying Japan, a dying Nobunaga offers the country to whoever fields the strongest warrior, sending daimyō scrambling to put up champions like Fūma Kotarō, Toda Seigen, and Yagyū Munenori.
Gen Satou (Dr. Stone) voices the feral, still-growing Musashi; Kenichirou Matsuda is the “kongō niō” giant Tadakatsu; and Kenyuu Horiuchi (Dorohedoro) plays the blood-drunk unifier who treats the whole tournament as entertainment. Masashi Abe directs, Kazuharu Satou handles series composition, Ryouji Nakamori designs the fighters, and Hayato Matsuo scores the carnage.
Nakamaru and Azuma launched the manga in Young Magazine the 3rd in January 2021 before it moved to Monthly Young Magazine. Kodansha’s 13th volume is already out, volume 14 arrives August 20, and K Manga is simulpublishing the bouts in English.
