Studio Flad Unlocks Yankee-kun Staff, Dual Teasers for 2027

Studio Flad is teaming with 3DCG house WAO World on the TV adaptation of Naruki's Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun, the Bessatsu Friend rom-com also known as Glasses with a Chance of Delinquent. The official site has now locked a 2027 broadcast window, named the core crew, and dropped two opposite teaser visuals plus a promo that flips between them.

Makoto Hoshino directs, returning to Flad after The Little Lies We All Tell and his earlier idol work on Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji LOVE 2000%. Megumi Shimizu is writing series composition, and Ruriko Watanabe — whose designs also shaped Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Go Live a Slow Life in the Countryside — is drawing the cast. That is the same director-writer-designer trio that previously steered Flad's The Little Lies We All Tell, this time sharing production with WAO World.

The teasers lean into the manga's gap-moe joke. A heart-flutter key visual presses glasses honor student Ichikura against easily bullied classmate Momose; the delinquent board crowds in the rest of the gang and looks ready to start a fight. The short promo splices both looks, then slams the 2027 air date.

Hoshino's note to fans is simple: a boy who truly thinks glasses make him look respectable, parked next to a girl whose inner monologue is almost always rude, is already funny — and he wants that manga atmosphere on screen. Voice casting is still under wraps. Kodansha's series has passed 11 volumes and a million copies in print, so the studio team has a long runway of chaos to animate.
