Square Enix has revealed an ambitious new slate of English-language manga and books scheduled for release throughout Spring 2027. The announcements from the company's Manga & Books imprint highlight a diverse array of stories that blend romance, comedy, action, and ties to beloved game franchises.

At the forefront is Not Quite Love by Daisuke Hagiwara, the artist behind the hit Horimiya. The series follows high schooler Umi Sayama as she reunites with her older childhood crush, now a scruffy manga artist living next door. What starts as a potential meet-cute quickly evolves into something more complicated than a simple first love.

The rest of the manga lineup offers plenty of variety, from a transfer student language barrier romance in My Classmate James and a dog-themed school comedy Inuta: My Canine Classmate to darker tales like the AI-fueled thriller elements and a supervillain's rise to infamy.

On the book side, fans can look forward to FINAL FANTASY XIV Picture Book: Me and the Cornservant, an original charming story from the game's development team featuring the whimsical Cornservant creature, and FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH: Dear Destiny, the sequel novel that continues Aerith and Tifa's personal journeys with bonus content and upcoming narration videos from their English voice actors.
