Patlabor EZY File 3 Reveals Sentinel Pair, Teaser, and March 5 Date

Special Vehicles Section 2 just got two more voices in the cockpit. Official channels for Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor: EZY dropped a File 3 key visual, a 30-second teaser, and a First Platoon pairing — Kaori Nazuka as Kaoru Mitarai and Taku Yashiro as Takuya Niiro — as the third theatrical chapter locks March 5, 2027 in Japanese cinemas.

Mitarai drives Sentinel Unit 1: earnest, frighteningly sharp on the sticks, and a little too eager to punch ahead, which is why Niiro keeps yanking her back. He plays the laid-back commander who still calls the right shots because he trusts that skill. Their AV-17 Sentinel is the newer, rear-entry labor First Platoon has run since 2017, a sleek contrast to Second Platoon's patched-up AV-98Plus Ingrams.

File 1 opened May 15 and File 2 hit screens August 14 as stand-alone cases. File 3 breaks that rhythm. Episodes 7 and 8 form one two-part story, "Toyland," that starts with a Setagaya mystery circle, hops to scrambled Shibuya signals, and detonates into a capital-wide countdown on electronic billboards. Yutaka Izubuchi is directing at J.C.Staff from Kazunori Ito's scripts, with Kenji Kawai back on the score — HEADGEAR's old chemistry, rebuilt for 2030s Tokyo.

The same drop put exclusive hardware in fans' hands. A limited File 3 Blu-ray is already up for pre-order at A-on STORE and Premium Bandai, bundled with Kawai's original soundtrack vol. 2 plus the teaser and a non-credit opening. Theaters will sell it first when File 3 opens, with mail-order following a week later, and bonus-packed advance tickets went on sale with File 2's run.
