Patlabor EZY File 3 Locks March 5, 2027—Teaser, Visual & First-Squad Cast

The Patlabor revival is rolling into its endgame. With Patlabor EZY File 2 opening in Japanese theaters on August 14, the production has locked March 5, 2027 for File 3—the final theatrical chapter of the eight-episode, three-film project—and dropped a teaser plus a sharp new key visual to mark the occasion.

Joining the roster are Kaori Nazuka as First Squad sentinel pilot Kaoru Mitarai and Taku Yashiro as her commander Takuya Niiro, rounding out the Special Vehicles Section ahead of the closing two-parter. Franchise veterans remain at the helm: Yutaka Izubuchi directing at J.C.Staff, series composition and scripts by Kazunori Itō, character design by Takamitsu Satō, and a score from Kenji Kawai.

Structured for the big screen, File 1 (May 15) and File 2 collect the first six mostly self-contained cases, while File 3 bundles the climactic two-episode arc. Set in a 2030s Japan where AI automation is sidelining crewed Labors, the series follows a new Second Platoon still answering Labor crimes in upgraded AV-98Plus Ingrams. Advance tickets for the finale go on sale with File 2’s debut—mecha fans, mark both dates.
