Mii-chan and Miss Yamada Posts Its Final Chapter as Volume 7 Locks Sept. 9

Kodansha confirmed on Saturday that Nene Azuki’s nightlife drama Mii-chan and Miss Yamada has reached the end of its Magazine Pocket serialization. Chapter 37, titled “Yamada-san and Mii-chan,” is the last installment, closing a two-year run that began in September 2024.
The seventh and final tankōbon ships September 9 in both regular and deluxe editions. Circulation has already crossed three million copies across print and digital, a rare climb for a title that only released its sixth volume on April 23. Set in 2012 Kabukicho, the story follows university student and cabaret-club hostess Yamada as she is drawn toward Mii-chan, a clumsy newcomer whose warmth cuts through a night-work world that is rarely kind.
The series placed fourth among male readers in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2026 and earned a nomination in the General category of the 50th Kodansha Manga Awards. Seven Seas Entertainment will publish the first English volume on December 8.
A television anime is already locked for 2027, so the printed finale is less a disappearing act than a handoff. The official account thanked readers who stayed with the pair for two years, and Azuki for pouring everything she had into the pages.
