Mii-chan and Miss Yamada Closes Its Web Run With Volume 7

Kodansha has confirmed that Nene Azuki’s acclaimed web drama Mii-chan and Miss Yamada is wrapping up for good. The series posted its 37th and final chapter on the Magazine Pocket app, and the publisher will collect that last stretch in volume 7 on September 9—closing a roughly two-year run that began in September 2024.
What started as a sharp, bittersweet look at Kabukicho nightlife has become one of Magazine Pocket’s standout success stories. The manga has already moved a cumulative three million copies in circulation, and volume 6 only hit shelves in late April. Seven Seas Entertainment picked up the English license earlier this year and plans to ship volume 1 on December 8, so overseas readers will still be meeting Mii-chan and Yamada as the Japanese edition says goodbye.
Critical momentum has kept pace with the sales. The series placed fourth in the Male Readers’ Top 20 of Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2026 and earned a General-category nomination at the 50th Kodansha Manga Awards. In July, Kodansha also greenlit a television anime set for 2027—meaning the story’s final print chapter arrives just as its next life on screen is getting underway.
