Jaadugar Adds Ishida, Minase & Chiba as Mongolia Arc Deepens

Science SARU’s summer hit Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia just stacked its roster with three of the industry’s most reliable names. Veteran Akira Ishida, fan-favorite Inori Minase, and rising regular Shōya Chiba are joining the ongoing series as Dayir, Khulan, and Kurtogan—roles that surface from episode 6 onward as Töregene’s past unspools.
The official site and @anime_jaadugar account dropped character visuals alongside the casting news, teasing a flashback into the Mergen people and the choices that bind Töregene to Dayir’s household before the Mongol conquests tear that world apart. It’s the kind of mid-season injection that signals the palace intrigue is about to get personal—and far bloodier.
Chief director Naoko Yamada and director Abel Góngora continue to steer Tomato Soup’s josei historical manga (Yen Press’s A Witch’s Life in Mongol) on TV Asahi’s IMAnimation W block, with Crunchyroll carrying the simulcast and English dub. With the Mongolia arc already in full swing, this trio’s arrival should give the next stretch of episodes a fresh emotional center of gravity.
