HIDIVE Secures Murciélago Anime for Exclusive 2027 Stream

The announcement landed during Anime Expo 2026 when NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan revealed that the long-running seinen title would receive a television adaptation in 2027.
HIDIVE claimed a major licensing win, securing exclusive streaming rights for the series in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand as part of its upcoming 2027 lineup.
The story centers on Kuroko Koumori, a former death-row inmate repurposed as a state-sanctioned executioner, and her partner Hinako Tozakura, a deceptively cheerful driver with unmatched skills. Together they take on society's darkest criminals in a no-holds-barred buddy action saga known for its stylish violence, twisted humor, and unfiltered edge.
Satelight and Staple Entertainment are handling animation production. Takashi Naoya serves as chief director and series composer, Asami Matsuo directs, Sei Tateishi designs the characters, and music comes from Masanori Akita and Yūichi Tsuchiya. Voice recording is already underway.
With over 2.3 million copies in circulation worldwide and a passionate following for its boundary-pushing tone, the project marks a notable streaming acquisition for edgier titles heading to international audiences.
