HIDIVE Secures Exclusive Simulcast for 'The World Is Dancing' Historical Anime

HIDIVE is bolstering its Summer 2026 lineup with a standout licensing win, securing exclusive simulcast rights to The World Is Dancing for viewers in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
The series adapts Kazuto Mihara's manga into a historical drama that explores the origins of Noh, Japan's centuries-old classical dance-drama form. Through the fictionalized story of young Oniyasha — the childhood name of real-life Noh co-founder Zeami Motokiyo — the production by studio Cypic blends meticulous period detail, traditional performance elements, and striking animation to depict 14th-century Japan.
Subscribers will get the first episode on June 29, ahead of the Japanese broadcast on July 2. Episode two receives an extra spotlight as its world premiere screens during a special event at Anime Expo 2026.
The acquisition highlights HIDIVE's focus on culturally distinctive titles and adds fresh competition in the race for premium seasonal anime, delivering a unique historical piece to international audiences right as the summer season heats up.
