Free Fire Daybreak Locks Spring 2027 as Garena & Kadokawa Go Global

One of mobile gaming’s biggest franchises is officially jumping into the seasonal anime calendar. Garena and Kadokawa have locked the title Free Fire Daybreak for their joint TV adaptation of Garena Free Fire, set for a spring 2027 debut with simultaneous broadcast and streaming plans that include Japan and markets worldwide.

The near-future story drops into New Dawn, a city under the thumb of Horizon Corporation. Sixteen-year-old Kelly is pulled into the shadowy “Project Bloom,” awakens a power called Limit Break that can unseal the locked-away, and teams with allies including Hayato and Moco to dig into the conspiracy threatening the city’s future—superpowered battle-action with friendship and identity on the line.

Ken Takahashi (Ragna Crimson) is directing at studio Candy Box, the house behind Blue Archive The Animation and Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!. Hotaru Asafuji handles series composition and scripts, while Koji Fujimoto of Sus4 Inc. scores the show; Kadokawa’s overseas arm, Kadokawa Qingyu, is listed as production manager. A new key visual spotlighting Kelly, Hayato, and Moco is out now, with the first full promo trailer scheduled for August 1 at 11:00 a.m. JST—another step in a game-to-anime pipeline first teased in 2024 and built for Free Fire’s global player base.
