Digimon Digivolves Again: Brand-New Anime Project Set for 2027

The official Digimon anime account dropped a sky-blue bombshell on Saturday: a completely new anime project is in motion for a 2027 broadcast window. Framed as a full original rather than a remake or soft reboot, the announcement arrives as the franchise prepares to mark three decades since the first Digital Monster virtual pets hit shelves in 1997.
While cast, staff, and title remain under wraps, the timing is no accident. DIGIMON BEATBREAK—the current Sunday-morning series that premiered in October 2025 and is deep into its Kyō Arc—still has chapters left on Fuji TV (with Crunchyroll carrying the simulcast and English dub). The 2027 series is positioned as the next major chapter once Beatbreak’s run concludes.
Anniversary energy does not stop at the new show. Fuji TV will also revive fan-favorite episodes from the first four Digimon television series, selected by a global vote, starting October 4, 2026 in the classic 9:00 a.m. slot. From Digimon Adventure through later generations, the reruns are a nostalgia bridge into the new era.
For longtime Tamers and DigiDestined alike, the message is simple: the Digital World is not done evolving. Expect title, key visuals, and production details to follow as the 30th-anniversary campaign ramps up.
