Darkroom Streaming Service Licenses Cult Anime Classics Crusher Joe and Simoun

Darkroom, a streaming service focused on independent, arthouse, and cult classics, has secured licensing for several vintage anime titles that have been tough to find on major platforms. The additions bring back beloved and obscure works for a new generation of viewers seeking something beyond the latest simulcasts.
Leading the pack is the 1983 sci-fi action film Crusher Joe along with its two OVA follow-ups, A Trap of the Frozen Jail and The Final Weapon ASH. Fans can also stream the surreal comedy sequels Haré+Guu Deluxe and Haré+Guu FINAL, plus the distinctive 2006 sci-fi series Simoun. These titles join a growing library of under-the-radar anime on the service.
Darkroom keeps things accessible with a low $2.99 monthly fee and apps across web, mobile, and TV devices. The platform has already been adding more anime regularly and plans continued expansion through summer and fall, carving out space for older and niche works that bigger streamers often skip.
This licensing push shows how smaller services are filling gaps in the anime catalog, offering cult favorites and classics a fresh chance to reach dedicated fans worldwide.
