Cosmic Princess Kaguya! Novel Tops Oricon June Light Novel Chart
In a strong showing for film tie-ins, the novel adaptation of Cosmic Princess Kaguya! has claimed the top spot on Oricon's Monthly Light Novel Ranking for June 2026.
Oricon tallied an estimated 15,049 copies sold for the title across the June 1-28 tracking window, pushing it ahead of Classroom of the Elite: Year 3 Vol. 4 at #2 and the debut of Ryohgo Narita's new Bleach-inspired novel DON'T BLEACH MY FIST at #3. The book, written by Naruto Kiriyama with illustrations by Asao Urata, carries a cumulative total nearing 186,000 copies since its January release.
The volume expands the story of the original anime film directed by Shingo Yamashita and produced by Studio Colorido and Studio Chromato. It reimagines the classic Japanese folktale through a near-future lens of virtual streaming, live performances, and music from leading Vocaloid producers. The film itself wrapped its limited Japanese theatrical run in mid-June after launching on Netflix in January.
The result shows how the film's colorful characters, kinetic animation, and heartfelt themes keep drawing fans back for more stories even after its initial run.
