BOMHAT Launches 'Coquette' Coquette Ballet Manga on Comic Days

BOMHAT, the mangaka celebrated for the intricate artwork in her dark fantasy series A Kingdom of Quartz, steps into a brighter, more playful space with her latest project. Kodansha's Comic Days platform launched the new serialization Coquette this week, with the first chapter now live.
The story follows Cosette, a dedicated ballerina who trains relentlessly yet remains unable to advance to soloist level. Her routine transforms when Laura, a super-cute influencer, enrolls in the ballet school, introducing fresh dynamics and charm into the studio environment.
Evoking the feminine, frilly coquette aesthetic through its title, the manga highlights the endearing daily lives, quiet ambitions, and bonds of these determined young women navigating the graceful but rigorous world of ballet. Readers can expect BOMHAT's detailed, elegant illustration style applied to tutus, pointe shoes, and personal moments.
The debut follows the artist's popular art zines and comes after A Kingdom of Quartz completed its run in Monthly Afternoon with English volumes from Kodansha Comics. The launch has sparked immediate excitement as BOMHAT expands her range with this fresh platform serialization.
