Synopsis
In a distant future, the very concept of warfare has transformed. "Objects"—enormous, sphere-shaped tanks that are impervious to conventional weaponry and carry devastating firepower—dominate the battlefield; simply deploying one guarantees victory, rendering traditional armies obsolete. Yet this new form of combat is about to be overturned. Qwenthur Barbotage, a student specializing in Object Design, and Havia Winchell, a radar analyst of noble lineage, are assigned to the Legitimate Kingdom's 37th Mobile Maintenance Battalion, which supports the Baby Magnum, one of the nation's Objects. However, a botched battle puts the pair in a desperate scenario: mere foot soldiers stand directly before the overwhelming might of an enemy Object. As they fight to rescue themselves and their comrades, a spark of hope emerges, and the world's view of Objects is permanently altered. Heavy Object follows these two soldiers, along with Milinda Brantini—the pilot of the Baby Magnum—and their commanding officer Frolaytia Capistrano, as the unit travels across the globe to engage in one conflict after another. Facing countless impossible odds, they must gather all their ingenuity and bravery to defeat the seemingly invincible foes that are Objects.
Background
Several characters from Heavy Object are slated to appear in the sequel to the arcade fighting game Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.
