Synopsis
The story follows three hobos—Punch, Touch, and Boom—who make their home inside a broken-down car perched atop a junkyard. Punch is a bear whose head is impossibly tough, hard as stone, and no blow can ever knock him down. Boom, a weasel, is a crack shot who uses a slingshot instead of a gun. Touch, a mouse, relies on her tiny size to slip through small openings and sneak around without the villains ever noticing. The antagonist is Gari-Gari, a mad scientist wolf determined to build a mansion on the junkyard. He constantly devises evil schemes to raise the money needed to buy the property—whether by inventing a machine that produces counterfeit 10 yen coins (roughly 10 cents in US currency) or by stealing priceless paintings and selling them to the highest bidder. As an inventor, he creates all sorts of gadgets to carry out his plans. If Gari-Gari ever succeeds in purchasing the junkyard, the three heroes would lose their only home, so they repeatedly foil his plots. Gari-Gari employs two henchmen: Black, a gangster cat who carries a gun and frequently fires at Punch and the others, and Nyu, a simple-minded pig with tremendous strength.
