Valkyria Chronicles

Synopsis

The narrative of Valkyria Chronicles unfolds on the fictional continent of Europa, which resembles 1930s Europe. This landmass is split between two dominant powers: the Imperial Empire, a monarchy situated in the east, and the Federation, a western alliance of democracies. A vital substance known as ragnite is central to this world, powering everything from military machinery to medical procedures. Due to its immense value, the Federation and the Empire are locked in perpetual conflict over ragnite. The plot centers on the neutral nation of Gallia, which possesses abundant ragnite deposits, when the Empire launches an invasion to seize these resources. The story follows Welkin, the son of a deceased war hero; Isara, Welkin's Darcsen adoptive sister; and Alicia, a member of the Bruhl town watch. Together, they fight against the Imperial forces as part of the makeshift Gallian militia unit, Squad 7. Squad 7 battles to reclaim their homes and livelihoods, with Welkin serving as squad leader and commander of the Edelweiss tank, Alicia working as a scout, Isara piloting the Edelweiss, and a diverse cast of unique characters joining their cause.
