Synopsis
In Okinawa, high schooler Kio Kakazu is living a normal life until he faints at his grandfather's memorial when he encounters Eris, a strange girl sporting cat ears. After waking up, Kio finds Eris mostly undressed next to him. She explains that she is an envoy from the planet Catia, sent to collect data on Earth and help build ties between their civilizations. Having been treated so warmly, Eris decides to move in with Kio's family. Their peaceful days are disrupted when agents from several secret organizations, among them Kio's childhood friend Manami Kinjou, try to capture Eris. Determined that Eris will leave Earth with a favorable opinion of humans, Kio promises to protect her and prove to everyone that she poses no danger.
Background
Asobi ni Iku yo! was released on Blu-ray and DVD in North America as Cat Planet Cuties by Funimation Entertainment on September 18, 2012. The publisher rereleased the series on Blu-ray on April 7, 2020.
