Embracing Love: A Cicada in Winter

Synopsis

In contrast to his fellow Choshu Clan members, Touma Kusaka does not hold anti-foreign feelings. After reconnecting with Keiichirou Akizuki, a Tokugawa vassal who once helped him escape government officials, Kusaka and Akizuki begin studying English in secret. Despite the ongoing tensions between their warring families, a romantic connection starts to develop between them. Their hopes for a future where they can be together grow more distant as the approaching conflict between their clans threatens to separate them, overshadowing their personal desires with the weight of obligation and heritage.
