Following the dissolution of Fairy Tail and the scattering of its members throughout Fiore, Natsu Dragneel remains unwavering in his quest to reunite the guild that served as his home. Accompanied by Happy and Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu is determined to protect the guild and its enduring legacy against any threat. However, they now confront their most formidable challenge to date: the invasion of Fiore by the might of the Alvarez Empire and its legendary emperor.

For a century, a legendary mission has been waiting for a wizard strong enough to accomplish it. On the northern continent of Guiltina exist five immensely powerful Dragon Gods whose devastating might requires sealing. Natsu Dragneel along with his Fairy Tail comrades—Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, Wendy Marvell, and the Exceeds Happy and Carla—are pulled toward this formidable endeavor. However, the Fairy Tail wizards aren't the only ones chasing the Dragon Gods. The guild called Diabolos, made up of "Dragon Eaters," aims to strengthen their Dragon Slayer magic by devouring these dragons.
