Aquarion Evol
アクエリオンEVOL
Synopsis
Continues the story of Aquarion
In ancient times, a race known as the Shadow Angels invaded Earth with the intent of draining its inhabitants' life force. By a miraculous turn of events, the Shadow Angels entered a dormant state, granting humanity 12,000 years of respite. But following the cataclysmic event known as the Holy Genesis, which wreaked havoc on the planet eleven years prior, these beings reawakened and resumed their attacks. DEAVA, a newly formed organization, created a powerful robotic weapon called Aquarion to defend against this threat. To harness Aquarion’s full power, three pilots must synchronize their hearts, minds, and spirits, a task only a select few can accomplish. The hunt for these individuals, referred to as 'Element Users', became crucial for securing humanity’s future. The narrative of Sousei no Aquarion centers around Apollo, a wild and impoverished young man who is thought to be the reincarnation of a legendary hero. After losing his closest friend to the Shadow Angels, Apollo resolves to become an Aquarion pilot. Will he be able to alter the course of the conflict and liberate humanity from the Shadow Angels’ looming danger?
In this installment
Over ten thousand years following the Genesis Aquarion era, humanity resides on the star Vega, constantly threatened by interdimensional invaders called Abductors from Vega's sister star, Altair. These Abductors raid Vega to steal human lives. To counter this menace, the Neo-DEAVA organization was created, deploying advanced mecha known as Aquaria, which are strictly divided by gender, with rules forbidding any interaction between males and females in both daily life and combat. However, the arrival of a powerful Abductor mecha shatters this order. In the midst of this crisis, two youths, Mikono and Amata, become drawn into the conflict. Unknown to them, Amata breaks a critical taboo by activating an Aquaria and performing the Forbidden Union, combining male and female Aquaria. This act horrifies Neo-DEAVA, with consequences far beyond Amata's understanding. Questions arise about how he can pilot an Aquaria, how he knows of the Forbidden Union, and why Mikono unexpectedly possesses the ability to operate the mecha as well.
