Synopsis

Emma has devoted her years to servitude as a maid, finding contentment in her role under the careful guidance of the retired governess, Kelly Stownar. Although she is attractive, diligent, and warm-hearted, she has resigned herself to her place in society, despite the unreturned admiration of many working-class men in London. Her pursuit of love takes an unforeseen turn when William—the heir to the newly prosperous Jones family—returns to Mrs. Stownar's estate. Having once been under her care himself, William is immediately enchanted by Emma. His sincere devotion and persistent courtship slowly win her heart. Yet, as their relationship deepens, they face formidable barriers due to the strict class divisions of 19th-century England.
