Synopsis

Eleven-year-old orphan Anne Shirley has spent her life constantly moving from one home to another, searching for a place where she truly belongs. When she arrives at Green Gables, a remote farm in Avonlea, she meets Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, two older siblings, and learns there has been a mistake. The Cuthberts had asked for a boy to help with the farm work, so they are surprised to find a lively, imaginative girl standing before them instead. Despite their initial hesitation, Anne’s energy, humor, and charm soon win over the Cuthberts. As Anne settles into her new surroundings, she experiences many firsts, including attending school and forming close friendships, all while navigating the joys and challenges of growing up.
