The Rolling Girls
Rolling☆Girls
ローリング☆ガールズ
Synopsis
After the Great Tokyo War, Japan breaks into ten separate nations, each controlled by a gang led by a "Best"—a human prophet possessing powerful abilities. Nozomi Moritomo, an average teenager referred to as a "Rest," joins her local gang in hopes of backing her childhood friend and admired Best, Masami Utoku. As territorial disputes escalate, Nozomi's world is shaken when Masami suffers severe injuries and can no longer fight. Taking on her friend's role, Nozomi begins a journey to fulfill the various requests sent to Masami from all over Japan. Along the way, she meets Yukina Kosaka, a shy girl with no sense of direction; Ai Hibiki, an energetic girl obsessed with food; and Chiaya Misono, a quiet and mysterious girl who always wears a gas mask. These four girls ride across the country on motorcycles, facing territorial wars, conflicts, and hidden secrets.
Background
Rolling☆Girls utilizes music from the late 80s to early 90s punk rock band The Blue Hearts as an influence within the series. The opening and closing songs are covers of The Blue Hearts tracks and several of the episodes are named after songs written by the band.
