Synopsis

On the shattered planet of Gaiarth, humanity clings to existence among the wreckage of a civilization where technology, due to deep-seated misconceptions, has come to be seen as magic. Artificial intelligences, driven by conflicting programmed commands—either to protect or to destroy humans—continue their unending activities. Into this turmoil, an ancient and malevolent force has stirred from its long slumber, poised to bring about a second cataclysm upon the world.
