Synopsis
In a world shattered by relentless earthquakes, much of Japan lies in ruins, with nature reclaiming the land under a blanket of lush vegetation. Strict global emission regulations have widened the divide between rich and poor. To address this, the Japanese government launches "Project Atlas"—a futuristic utopian city meant to replace Tokyo. However, this city can accommodate only a privileged few, leaving countless others to survive as refugees in the encroaching wilderness. This flawed solution draws opposition from diverse foes: Kuniko Houjou, heir to a rebellious community; Mikuni, a mysterious and powerful child sheltered in a hidden temple; Kunihito Kusanagi, a soldier serving under Atlas, a technologically advanced conglomerate; Karin Ishida, a brilliant economist who manipulates global financial systems; and Ryouko Naruse, the sinister leader driving Atlas's dominance over this new world order. These rebels unite under the banner of "Metal-Age." Can they come together and prove that unity and collaboration can overcome such harsh divisions?
