Brigadoon

Synopsis

Marin is an average middle school girl with a cheerful personality and a caring adoptive family. Her ordinary life is completely upended when a strange mirage appears in the sky across the entire world. Murderous androids known as the Monomakia descend from this sky phenomenon called Brigadoon and start pursuing young Marin. While trying to escape, she discovers a blue bottle at a shrine, and from it emerges a protector—an alien armed with a sword and a gun named Melan Blue. Together, they must save the planet while dealing with family troubles, prejudice at school, and the police, all while uncovering the truth about Marin's past and the unclear purpose of Melan's mission, and learning to build trust with each other. The story is set in 1969 Japan and features a lively group of both friends and enemies.
