Synopsis
In "Hybrid Child," Kuroda, a master craftsman, creates artificial beings known as Hybrid Child—entities that are neither machines nor dolls, but instead grow based on the love they receive. Though they possess human-like emotions and self-awareness, these constructs are not fully human and require affection to develop. Kotarou Izumi, the young heir of the prestigious Izumi family, faces criticism when he rescues an abandoned Hybrid Child from the trash. He names this Hybrid Child Hazuki. His family repeatedly tries to get rid of Hazuki whenever Kotarou is absent. As they overcome these challenges, their bond deepens through mutual care. Yet, a decade later, a troubling truth comes to light: Hybrid Children may not have an infinite lifespan. "Hybrid Child" weaves together three short stories of love, exploring the connections between the artificial beings and those who nurture them.
