Elemi

Synopsis

In the story of Elemi, a reliable utility pole standing among many in a small town, she develops a unique connection with a young repairman named Takahashi during regular maintenance. Moved by his kindness, Elemi decides to express her gratitude by placing phone calls to him, pretending to be a human. As time passes, the other utility poles in the town notice Elemi's growing feelings and urge her to stop, warning her about the potential disapproval from society and the inevitable moment when her true identity will be discovered by Takahashi. During an era when all communication passed through utility poles and cell phones did not exist, the tale of Denshinbashira Elemi no Koi unfolds as a touching romance between a utility pole and a utility worker.
