Their escape is made possible when Doctor Easter arrives in the Humpty Dumpty, a specially designed militarized vehicle built to safeguard Welfare cases under threat. As they journey toward Paradise, the origin point of Scramble 09 technology and the site where Boiled was resurrected, deeper secrets about Mardock City's history and potential future come to light. These revelations heighten the tension, forcing Balot to choose between pursuing personal justice or ensuring peace in Paradise.

In their effort to dismantle Shell's operations, Easter, Balot, and Oeufcoque have developed a courtroom plan that depends on recovering a vital memory chip from inside Shell's fortress, the BlueEgg Casino in Mardock City. If they cannot secure this evidence, their legal case will fall apart, resulting in their elimination as their value to influential organizations diminishes. Balot must traverse the perils of Shell's territory and evade capture by Boiled, who is pursuing them closely, to successfully retrieve the chip.
