Synopsis
In the aftermath of a catastrophic explosion at a Middle Eastern archaeological excavation facility, the world is forever altered. The sky becomes a mirror, electronics fail inexplicably, and children born in this new era exhibit strange, metaphysical abilities. Society crumbles into a hollow remnant of what it once was. Behind the secret forces responsible for this apocalyptic change stands an elite group of powerful young mutants, determined to rebuild the world under the leadership of a mysterious woman known only as The Countess. At the heart of the story are two siblings—Tatsuya and Kiyoko—children of a scientist from the Twin X facility.
