Synopsis

In "Hyperventilation," Lee Myeongyi has dealt with a lifelong pneumothorax that causes frequent hyperventilation and coughing fits, along with exemptions from gym class and military service. This makes him a subject of both curiosity and contempt among his classmates, leaving him feeling alienated. During this time, class president Han Seonho consistently offers Myeongyi kindness and support, which sparks his first crush. Nine years after graduation, Myeongyi goes to a high school reunion with the sole purpose of seeing Han Seonho again, clinging to a faint hope that Seonho might reciprocate his feelings. That hope is crushed when he spots a wedding ring on Seonho’s finger and hears conversations about Seonho being married. Despite his lung condition, Myeongyi slips outside to smoke, only to be followed by Seonho, which leads to their hidden relationship.
